Hookworms at The Harley, 26.10.14

We’re very pleased to announce that Hookworms will stop off at The Harley on 26th October prior to the release of their second record, The Hum.

The band have announced The Hum, a new studio album due for release on Monday 10th November 2014 via Domino imprint Weird World (also home to Peaking Lights, How To Dress Well and more). The Hum arrives eighteen months after the band’s début album Pearl Mystic, a record which went on to become one of 2013′s most impactful breakout statements.

Event more ferocious and uncompromising than it’s predecessor, The Hum is available for pre-order now and you can stream the first track to be taken from it via the Domino website.

Kogumaza
Kogumaza formed in Nottingham in 2009. They use primitive rhythms, patterns and riffs to create dense and mesmeric song-cycles. The band’s live sound is manipulated through dub delays and echoes, allowing what is basically a heavy rock trio to expand and willingly lose control of the sound they make as they make it.

The resulting music marries fuzzed-out psychedelia to an ambient aesthetic, placing the band somewhere between the infinite repetition of Moondog, the thick gloop of Master Of Reality-era Sabbath and the hypnotic pulse of Lungfish
