Created as a collaborative project for Los Angeles’ Museum Of Contemporary Art, ‘True Vulture’ pairs Death Grips with animator Galen Pehrson. Its unhinged scattergun rap sits uneasily against Pehrson’s sinister and surreal animations, and we can’t get enough of it.
Mazes‘ more recent stuff has seen them move away from the scrappy, fuzzed-up surf-garage of their first record, and towards a neater, sharper downbeat kind of psych. Into it.
Jack Tatum’s latest slice of woozy, 80s, synth-psychedelia comes accompanies by a video of actor Michelle Williams looking uneasy on a plane. As well as being damned good-looking, it also contains a lengthy, introspective spoken-word bit in the middle, recorded by Williams especially for Wild Nothing. Nice.
