At The Drive-In
The long-rumoured At The Drive-In reunion was confirmed this week, which sent our stereo into a Relationship Of Command reverie. Any doubters of their live prowess should just look at what they did to Robbie Williams’ Stupid Face to know that any chance to see them live this year should be bent over any-which-way for.

‘Love Lends a Hand’
This week, we were very happy to announce that Dan and his nautical cohorts would be bringing their gravel-throated folk-rock to our place as support for The Leisure Society on 16th Feb. The video for this song features the world’s smallest practise room, which put us in mind of some of the massive spaces on offer to bands in Sheffield. Ta, Industrial Revolution.

‘War Pigs – basement tape’
This week we raise a get well \m/ \m/ to Tony ‘We’re Not Worthy’ Iommi who was sadly diagnosed with cancer. Even on this, the original basement tape version of War Pigs (complete with satanic alternate lyrics), he shreds like a Brum out of hell.
Rejoice, the second season of Carrie Brownstein’s indie comedy Portlandia has started! The dream of the 90s is alive in the city where young people go to retire. Lucky for us, the ex-Sleater Kinney guitarist is also still riffing. ‘Short Version’ is a highlight from her new band Wild Flag’s triumphant debut album. Bandmate Mary Timony’s guitar tapping on this song might just make your eyes roll into the back of your head, in the best way possible.
